School of Justice & Safety

Welcome to HIPDET's School of Justice & Safety.  Our unique programs provide students with the opportunity to get involved in an academic field and career they can feel passionate about. Our School offers unique degree programs and has a reputation for being on the frontline of learning and research in the fields of justice and safety.


The School differs from traditional education to prepare practitioners imbued with social responsibility, and we build new models for engaging communities understanding of justice and safety.  

As part of our commitment to our community of Cameroon and the world, the School of Justice and Safety offers certificate degree programs which can be offered to anyone with a desire to learn.  We believe in open access to anyone with a willingness to learn.  Our certificate programs are offered through the School of Vocational Training and administred by the the School of Justice and Safety. 


Our 30-hour certificate in Security Management focuses on the principles and theories associated with various types of security, from physical security to security administration that focuses on the protection of assets. Many organizations need experienced security managers, security guards, and security officers to protect businesses' assets and to proactively prevent internal or external attacks.

Associate of Science in Crime Scene Investigation

Bachelor of Science in Criminology

The Associate in Science Degree in Crime Scene Investigation prepares students for employment in the field of criminalistics with a specialty in Crime Scene Investigation or Forensic Science. Graduates of this program may find employment as a Forensic Science Technician, Crime Scene Technician, Medical Examiner Investigator, Medical Investigator, Insurance Investigator, Legal Investigator, Forensic Paralegal, Crime Scene Investigator, and Laboratory Technician, among others. Students may also continue their formal education within the School of Justice and Safety in order to receive a Bachelor of Science in Criminology.

A Bachelor of Science in Criminology features a strong concentration of criminal justice courses combined with a traditional, well-rounded liberal arts education. The program equips students for careers focused on keeping people, neighborhoods, and nations safe by enabling them to explore timely issues including violence and victims, justice-involved mental health populations, police innovations, national security, and data-driven practice.
